Cantankerous Critters was developed for the August 2014 game jam, titled "Barnyard Blaster", run by BITGEM.
It was the first game jam I'd ever tried and was a hell of a lot of fun and placing 2nd was icing on the cake.
The little community over on the BITGEM's forums is full of very talented and friendly people.
I definitely recommend checking out both the forums and the fantastic art assets that BITGEM create and sell.
