Hi! I'm Andrew Neale and I'm (attempting to be) a bit of a jack of all trades.

By day, I'm a professional website and application developer. By night (and weekend), I'm a hobbyist game developer, composer, and musician. I also dabble in a bit of graphic design.

I enjoy what I'm doing but I'm just one man. Balancing all the workload of game development by myself limits the scope of project I can take on. I'm also the first to admit that I'm not much of a graphic designer.

As a result, I'm very open to collaboration; whether for a single project or expanding the team. Please get in touch if you're interested!

On games

Since the first time I played a video game I've known I wanted to be involved in making them. I had absolutely no idea what that meant at the time and certainly no clue just how hard work it would actually be but the passion is still there.

I messed around with the early versions of Klik 'n' Play and Game Maker, made text-based games in QBASIC, started dabbling in 3D using Dark BASIC, and have found my way to working with Unity. It's been a fun journey and I've learned a hell of a lot.

Some of my biggest inspirations as an independent developer are Alec Holowka, Jonathan Blow, and Edmund McMillen / Tommy Refenes (Team Meat). I'm also quickly becoming a fan of Tom Francis.

Some of my all time favourite games/series are Croc, Spyro, Dishonored, Skyrim, Dragon Age, and Mass Effect. I'm currently re-playing Skyrim (because the 250+ hours logged so far is clearly not long enough).

On music

I've been messing around with keyboards and guitars for as long as I can remember. I've always enjoyed rock (e.g. Alter Bridge) and (the more melodic side of) metal (e.g. Avenged Sevenfold) but my tastes have expanded to the point where I can respect and enjoy good examples of almost any genre. A lot of what I listen to now is either classical or heavily synth oriented.

My tastes have been influenced a lot by playing games as well and the excellent composers from OSTs have been a massive inspiration (e.g. Austin Wintory). Additionally, I really enjoy the work of people such as FamilyJules7X, LittleVMills, and RichaadEB; turning video game music into awesome metal covers.
